Precautionary Boil Water Advisory
Due to a water main break, the City of Gallipolis is issuing a boil advisory for the following areas. We are advising all residents in the following areas, until further notice, to boil water for at least three (3) minutes, any water used for drinking (including water used to make ice), cooking, or oral hygiene.
The following residents will be affected:
State Route 7 South (from White Ave to Orchard Hill Rd)
State Route 218 (from State route 7 South to Lovers Ln)
The City of Gallipolis has no evidence at this time that the water system is contaminated. The possibility does exist, however, that the water system is contaminated and is issuing this advisory as a precaution.
The water department is conducting an investigation and collecting additional samples and hopes to have this problem corrected soon. An additional notice will be given when the water use advisory is lifted. For further information contact the City of Gallipolis Utility Office at (740) 441-6006 or the Maintenance Department at (740) 446-0600. Further information will also be posted on the City’s web site, www.cityofgallipolis.com.
We apologize for any inconvenience this advisory may cause.
